Introduction
In a world that often feels chaotic, the need for peace—both within ourselves and in our surroundings—has never been greater. The Bind Rune for Peace is a powerful combination of ancient runes, carrying a message of harmony, balance, and serenity. This crochet pattern brings that symbolism to life, allowing you to weave a meaningful and visually striking design into your handmade creations.
The Meaning Behind the Bind Rune for Peace
Bind runes are formed by combining multiple runes into a single symbol, blending their meanings to create a unified message. The Bind Rune for Peace incorporates:
- Algiz (ᛉ) – A rune of protection and higher guidance, ensuring safety and spiritual awareness.
- Gebo (ᚷ) – The rune of balance and harmony, representing the exchange of gifts and the concept of mutual respect.
- Berkano (ᛒ) – A rune of growth, nurturing, and renewal, bringing a sense of inner peace and new beginnings.
Crafting Bind Rune with Mosaic Overlay Crochet
This pattern is created using the mosaic overlay crochet technique, which beautifully highlights the intricate rune design. The bold geometric contrasts emphasize the structure of the bind rune, making it a perfect centerpiece for various projects such as wall hangings, pillow covers, or even a meaningful blanket square.

Abreviations
US notations used.
ch – chain
sc – single crochet
dc – double crochet
BLOsc – single crochet into back loop
FLOdc – double crochet into front loop
st – stitch
slst – slip stitch
We will crochet always on the right side. At the end of each row we change color.
In this pattern only standard stitches of mosaic are used – BLOsc, FLOdc.
Yarn can be cut off at the end of each row or it can be stretched on the back side and crocheted together (depends on your project). I have described two methods of starting and ending rows in mosaic crochet in another post. Here is the link to it: https://lelijo.lt/mosaic-coaster-baltic-free-pattern/
